We practice bridges because they isolate and strengthen your gluteus muscles and hamstrings. When done correctly, the move can also enhance core stability by targeting your abdominal muscles and the muscles of lower back and hip.
Bridges are one of the best exercises to get your glute muscles firing. It’s super important to activate these muscles because they are so large and play a huge role in almost every major movement of the body. People who sit a lot at work would really benefit from firing up these muscles in an IHP class. When the glutes are inactive or weak it can lead to tight hip flexors, back, knee and hip pain and so much more!
